Dr. Cynthia Y. Olvera-Camarillo

Dr. Cynthia Y. Olvera-Camarillo is a podiatric physician and foot and ankle specialist with more than two decades of experience caring for patients in Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley. A long-time resident of Brownsville, she combines her clinical expertise with a warm, approachable style that helps patients feel heard, informed and supported at every visit.

Before entering medicine, Dr. Olvera-Camarillo worked as a middle school teacher, which strengthened her ability to explain complex topics in clear, simple language. After completing her podiatric medical training and residency, she practiced with Lower Valley Podiatry and then opened her own private podiatry practice, where she cared for patients from 2001 to 2015. Over these years she developed extensive experience in managing chronic foot and ankle problems, diabetic foot complications and general podiatric conditions in both English- and Spanish-speaking patients.

Today, Dr. Olvera-Camarillo continues to focus on delivering attentive, individualized care. With 24 years of experience as a licensed podiatrist, she is dedicated to helping each patient walk with less pain, protect their mobility and prevent future complications through early diagnosis, education and evidence-based treatment.

Care Philosophy

Dr. Olvera-Camarillo believes that the best medical care starts with listening. She takes time to understand each patient’s symptoms, daily activities and concerns before recommending any treatment plan. Drawing on her background as a teacher, she explains diagnoses and options in everyday language so that patients feel confident and involved in their own care.

She is committed to treating every patient with the same respect and attention she would want for her own family. Whether a patient is dealing with long-standing foot pain, a new injury or a complex diabetic wound, her goal is always the same: to relieve pain, protect mobility and help people stay active and independent for as long as possible.
